Dr. Somner feels that finding and following a spiritual path is a vital yet personal decision.
She believes in an omnipotent God and inwardly prays for healing to occur for her patients.
Her experience has been that a patient’s belief in a higher power fosters a greater receptivity for healing through energetic osteopathy.
Dr. Somner may suggest that her patients explore their spirituality and find a way to connect with spirit.
Dr. Somner taps into the relationship between spirit, energy, life force and consciousness when she works with her patients.
Understanding this relationship brings a mindful, creative, life-enhancing and spiritual aspect to healing in which energy flow is enhanced, intuitive guidance is followed and healing can occur. This is the foundation of everything she does.
Dr. Somner will often receive insights of a spiritual nature while working with her patients. This intuitive guidance just happens. It is not a technique, it either happens or it doesn’t. When it doesn’t, she works with the traditional techniques of osteopathic assessment and treatment.

Case Example |
A patient came to see Dr. Somner with a lower back problem. Dr. Somner followed her treatment protocol and the patient responded well. Before the patient left, Dr. Somner intuitively felt a need to work on her neck.
The patient’s body responded by moving in such a manner that further corrective work was accomplished.
